This article is the 3rd in our coverage of the defining moments in jewelry at the Oscars. We will be featuring stories throughout the week including the shining stars that will appear on the red carpet at the 89th Academy Awards.

The 21s century brought back old world glamour to Hollywood. Here we share some of our favorite jewelry, worn by A-list style-setting and award winning actresses:

Cate Blanchett can’t go wrong whether she’s wearing a Cynthia Bach arm band in 2000  or going old school Hollywood with a Lorraine Schwartz floral brooch on her one shoulder gown in 2005.

Nicole Kidman knows how to rock diamonds in a Bulgari raw diamond necklace in 2002 and a L’Wren Scott necklace in 2008.

Charlize Theron is the picture of Old Hollywood glamour in Fred Leighton clips on the straps of her gown in and Chopard linear drop earrings in 2004.

Emmy Rossum brings matchy-matchy back with a flirtatious youthful appeal in 2005 in Harry Winston rubies and diamonds.

Emeralds started stealing the limelight on the red carpet first in 2003 on Julianne Moore when she wore Boucheron swingy chandelier earrings to match her emerald gown and then again when Angelina Jolie shone  in Lorraine Schwartz pendant drop earrings in 2009.

Amy Adams also chose to go green in a stunning carved emerald, diamond and platinum Deco Cartier necklace in 2011.

Anne Hathaway runs the gamut from confidently piling on diamond Van Cleef & Arpels’ bracelets in 2007 to pared down perfection in Tiffany & Co. diamond necklace and earrings in 2011.

Diane Lane brings on the elegance and natural beauty in an antique Victorian fringe necklace from Neil Lane in 2009.
