Gift Guide #7 : Greenwich St. Jewelers choose diamonds for our 12 Day of Gifts for The Holidays Series

This season we are lucky enough to have enlisted 12 expert modern designer retailers, antique dealers and shops for our holiday gift guide.  For each installment, we have asked for suggestions from their brick and mortar or online stores. We have also asked what gift they would choose for themselves this holiday season.

Jennifer and her sister Christina Gandia Gambale of Greenwich St. Jewelers  helped rebuild their parents’ jewelry retail business in the Wall Street area of Manhattan 13 years ago. For these two visionaries, jewelry tells the story not only of their youth, but also how the effects of  9/11 led them to change their careers to work with their parents and eventually take over, rebranding the business into one of New York’s premiere jewelry shops. These tenacious women not only went through usual ups and downs of revamping a business, but as Jennifer stated in prior article on the shop,  (full article here) “We survived two bombings and a hurricane, having to move the shop and build an entirely new clientele. We changed the name and rebuilt our website to commemorate the 40th anniversary of our roots and our parents’ first shop, which opened in 1976 on Greenwich Street,  just a few blocks from our Trinity Place location.”

Jennnifer and Christina feature a tightly curated selection  of the most sought after emerging and established modern designers and Jennifer offers her picks for gifts for the holiday season:

“Jade Trau’s crescent moon updates the iconic shape to hang like a string of sparkling lights  with the most brilliant diamonds! Crescent moons are associated with female empowerment and I think any woman would be thrilled to receive a gift with this symbolism today. It also is connected with the meaning, “I love your to the moon and back.” Either way it’s a gift with which you can’t go wrong”

“Although diamonds and hoops a are always timeless, these Sorellina  earrings mix the classic shape in gold with blackened  octagons sparking with pave and  creating the perfect earring for any day, occasion or season.”

“For the woman who has everything-or almost everything-Single Stone’s Cobblestone ring is sure to make her gasp. Antique diamonds give this jewel an understated radiance in an exquisitely crafted ring.”

“What I am coveting?” Yes Jennifer we want to know!

” Actually for me it isn’t diamonds–its this Jane Taylor black spinel cuff well with all different styles and stacks of bracelets and which will add to my own ever-growing bracelets starting to pile up my wrist”
